On A Cold, Snowy Day

Wisdom's favorite thing to do on a snowy day? Romp through the drifts. When she can't occupy her time frolicking in the winter wonderland, she tends to lay at the sliding glass door staring longingly at the outdoors.

New Concept

LH's photography professor seems a bit hung up on conceptual photography. And while I've questioned some of their assignments, the most recent one caught my attention. So I joined her this afternoon in wandering out, camera in hand and concept in mind. I won't expound upon the details of this particular concept at this time, but instead shall share it with you in pictures.

Snowy Hare

More photos from the eleventh.

Right after capturing the last photo on my previous post, one of our neighborhood bunny rabbits startled and shot out from under the barren bush. I had no idea the little fella was there until he moved, but I'm quite glad he brought himself to my attention. I cautiously stalked the little critter and gradually won his reluctant permission to get close enough to snap some pics of him--I even had time to experiment with color and B&W shots.

Miscellaneous

I just get more and more creative with my titles. I don't know how you all can stand it.

Saturday found us staying at home with only the occasional trip outside to shovel or, in my case, take pictures. We had snow during daylight and a dose of frozen fog in the evening. What is frozen fog you might ask? Sadly, it is not, in fact, a massive wall of ice. It does not crash down mountainsides, destroying everything in its path. It is merely fog that freezes onto the things with which it comes in contact. Disappointing, I know.

Boring frozen fog aside, I did in fact enjoy the weather and had great craic once again wandering out into our front yard and snapping random shots.

Icicles on my sister's Jeep. It has a bigger lift than the rest of the family cars, giving it far more epic icicle potential.

The Jeep again--it's a Wrangler, as you might have gathered.

Snowy tire. I thought it looked pretty neat.

Some of the remains of the great big cottonwoods that used to dwell across the street. Cottonwood actually burns incredibly hot, so it's not a particularly safe firewood. I am, however, seasoning this bundle of small logs to use as starter wood.

A splash of color in a naturally desaturated landscape.
