Vintage
This post is late in coming due to a crazy week.
Last Sunday, our state's chapter of the Early Ford V8 Club paid our little museum a visit. While the owners of the handsome vehicles were inside, taking the tour, CoolBreeze and I spent a bit of time admiring and photographing their cars. It was my first time on a classic car shoot and boy did I have fun!
These are only some of the many, many photos I took and still only some that made it past the elimination stage. Check out my DeviantArt account for more shots.

Kiss My Ass
No, I'm not cursing. I am indeed referring to my new donkey friend.
Meet Nugget, the (approximately) twelve year old burro, owned by our local mining museum. We started visiting Nugget weekly back in April. At the time, he was an incredibly depressed, lonely donkey.
When we last visited the museum in 2010, they had two burros. We knew one was called Oro and one Nugget, but we didn't know which one was the remaining donkey (little did I know that I'd posted his name on my 365 blog). A couple weeks after we started visiting the lonely burro, my mom decided to call up the museum and ask them his name--that phone call led to our family becoming part of a volunteer team dedicated to this donkey.
Here we are in June and I can say I've learned so much in the past couple of months. I grew up around horses and though I've been sadly horse-less for nearly a decade now, I've retained enough knowledge to say donkeys are a whole different ballgame. They spook every time you turn around--not as thrill seekers, but as genuinely scared animals. They're stubborn as all get-out. Not to mention they get in moods that can make them seem like a completely different donkey from day to day.
However, all of that said, this burro has been one of the most snuggly, tolerant, adorable animals I've ever worked with. He is in love with me and I with him. He comes running to the fence when we pull up and lets us rub all over him. In fact, he seems to think he's acquired himself a herd of jennies (female donkeys) and is rather high on himself for doing so.
When we started visiting Nugget, he seemed to be under the impression that my camera would suck his soul. So, instead of scaring him, I decided to set photography of him aside until he became comfortable with me.
Can you tell he's become comfortable with me?
